Development of Personal Brand through Social Media Channels

Question: Discuss about the Development of Personal Brand through Social Media Channels. Answer: Future job/business project While developing and getting a future job prospect it becomes critical that one reviews the pertinent opportunities that exist in the market(McCorkle, 2012). Post finishing off graduation I want to become an accountant in retail store or department. After evaluation of relevant job prospects and opportunities from Australian job portal www.seek.com.au and www.careerone.com.au I have come across several jobs that have openings across departmental stores of Coles as well as Woolworths in Australia. The job description requires that I have knowledge pertaining to international Accounting standards and for a person who is ready to work in shifts. The basic criteria for applying for this job are graduation hence I can apply for it easily(Van Dijck, 2013). The job will have multiple responsibilities that will need to be carried out which includes not only maintaining of books of accounts, input all bills and deliveries that are conducted form point of sales. Cross verifying for various sal es and tax related issues and payments as well as generating invoices for the purpose of allotting bills to various suppliers, distributers and so on that happens from the branch itself. The role is extremely challenging and requires that a person devoted to the role comply to various accounting and ethical standards to maintain such books and it also requires that a person follows completely compliance procedures such that there are no auditing challenges that are faced by the organization(Chen, 2013). The payment for the job will be standardized and there will be a period of 6 months for probation where the candidate will have to go through various trainings and need to acclimatize with set procedures such that a person easily understands treatment of various accounting heads. The challenging roles and responsibilities might also require the candidate to stay for longer periods than committed by the organization(Rampersad, 2008). Self-Analysis Self-reflection is the most vital and critical part of self-branding and a person with understanding of self can only opt for appropriate self-marketing. I will be completing my graduation in the area of accounting and will emerge as a professional ready for the industry(Commerce, 2009). I have gained immense knowledge and skills pertaining to accounting standards and regulations such that I will easily be able to tackle complex responsibilities such that I will be able to become a better accounting professional. Further I have done self-analysis in a detailed manner highlighting my potentials and skills such that I will be able to market myself in a better manner and attract suitable employers to my profile. I have conducted SWOT analysis, which is an abbreviated form for strength, weakness, opportunity and threat as given below. SWOT Analysis From the above analysis pertaining to self it can be well understood that I am a hardworking and aggressive person(Harris, 2011). I have low communication skills as well which allows me to handle and tackle complex problems while working. I have capabilities to work in a team hence I can easily strive for goals of higher levels. I am already graduating in accountancy which has provided me various skills and knowledge pertaining to lot of issues and challenges that arise in the field of accounts. I feel that with experience I will further be able to highlight and sharpen such skills of mine(Wetsch, 2012). While building my personal portfolio and in interviews I will highlight these skills of mine with which I am capable of becoming a highly trained and efficient professional. However, I have certain weaknesses as well as I lack experience and do not have much ideas regarding the complex working of the industry. I know that I will face threats from other competitors who have more knowl edge as well as skills to meet complex job requirements. But I will highlight in front of employers my readiness to learn various skills and face challenges as I am of very young age compared to other people working in the industry(Wee, 2010). I will put in my very best to prove myself and become a leader within the segment in no time. Once given an opportunity I will leave no stones unturned to see that I am able to establish that I am a well deserving professional who will be making significant contribution in the future. There are various opportunities in Australia in the field of Accounting professionals but the challenges are also immense as the country is experiencing a slow-down at the moment. Hence, I have to try and establish myself as a leader in the field by proving my worth to all possible extents(Labrecque, 2011). Social Networking Profile Social media networking has emerged as a tool that enables to connect with various employers and also explore various scopes pertaining to placement. I will opt for social media marketing of my personal branding through use of LinkedIn and Facebook. Both these platforms have become highly active that allows constant interaction of corporates with their likable candidates and exchange views regarding various topics with them. The LinkedIn offers a dynamic opportunity where a candidate can opt for any type of job given the suitability of their profile and gain significant reviews form them(Vallas, 2015). Whereas Facebook is a platform that allows for steady interactions with various companies along with their managers and leaders. I will intend to connect with various individuals through their Facebook accounts as well as through LinkedIn profiles such that after completing my graduations I will have at least 3 to 5 job offers at hand. I will aim to project myself through these various social media profiles as a leading Accounting professional who possesses immense learning capabilities(Karaduman, 2013). My personal branding will consist of four relevant areas including my courses completed, knowledge gained, skills and attributes, personal projects done and future aims and goals. Each segment will be detailed in the accounts page of the social media accounts. In my knowledge and skill area there will be highlighted the courses I have completed along with scores in various areas, there will also be skills attained in SWOT that will be provided in the personal skills description. Then there will be all projects and papers that we had to do during the conduct of my course along with knowledge gained in each. Then I will highlight some of my personal skills and ask my friends as well as colleagues to endorse them such that I am able to emerge as a leading professional in the area(Morgan, 2011). Recommendation and Conclusion The analysis regarding my personal self and its reflection has provided various input regarding my own self. Though I will pass and become an Accounting graduate but this self-analysis has provided various necessary attributes regarding own self. Thus, it becomes pertinent to undertake such reflection that helps to project and brand oneself in a better manner. I will go through and review various leading profiles in LinkedIn as well as Facebook to understand as to why their profiles attract significant amount of jobs compared to others. I will also take help from self-help books in the library to understand the relevant areas that I can improvise upon that will enhance my personal branding. Further I will take help from my university professor to provide insights into my account and how to increase its visibility further. I am sure that my professors will guide me and provide relevant inputs that will act as a strong factor for promoting my personal brand. Hence, by gaining relevant inputs and insights I will be able to market myself better and find a suitable position in a multinational organization and explore my skills further. References Chen, C.
